Acquisition of "The Virgin Mary, Beauty that will save the world." Garo, received by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, saw his work exhibited in the Vatican galleries. It later left Paris from the Vatican Embassy in France, in the presence of Archbishop Baldelli, Apostolic Nuncio.
Commissioned to paint a pointillist portrait by Kirk Douglas, created in Hollywood — where neo-impressionist technique meets the myth of American cinema.
Garo was selected by UNESCO to represent France. His work, "The Genome" — a face both man and woman, bearing our shared DNA — is now listed as part of UNESCO's world heritage. A book was published with the support of L'Oréal.
